Crisp snow blankets the ground
Matted brown pine needles peak out of a thin, powdery, white carpet, hinting at winter's soon arrival. Soft murmurs of the forest gently float on the breeze as a creak bubbles, still fresh with life and refusing to give way to winter's harsh ways. An owl hoots nearby and a wolf gives it's sad low call from somewhere in the distance as an eerie song drifts toward you. Is it a ghosts song? Or perhaps mermaids, perched on the ice cold rocks near the lake.
