I nodded, looking out at the landscape around me. Little balls of red light zipped across the sky and over the grass, lighting up trees, bushes and fields. Crickets and frogs chirped away, invisible to any and all passersby. Lia’s footsteps were in unison with mine, leaving me to wonder if she were doing that on purpose. Knowing her, the answer was most likely ‘yes’...
